In Honor of London Fashion Week...

This week, London, my favorite city in the entire world, wraps up another fashion week, leaving behind feelings of inspiration, motivation and let's just say it, envy in its wake. As iconic designers flaunt their creations down the runway and stylish show-goers glance over their shoulders as black taxi cabs whisk along the misty London streets, I sit in suburban America, lusting after a future of attending fashion week in all of the glamorous fashion capitals of the world.

Burberry Prorsum
Of course I'm giving prominence to what is perhaps the most iconic British designer showing at LFW. Burberry never fails to put on a dynamic show full of eye-catching visual elements and elegant, intoxicating live background music. The defining features of this season include silk slips, all-over lace dresses, military-style coats, of course the classic trench coat and lastly, the latest monogrammed must-have, the slouchy backpack.

As a brilliant PR tactic, Burberry thought to gift British babe Cara Delevingne with a personalized monogrammed backpack prior to the show. This was done, no doubt, in an effort to create buzz and announce what the latest coveted item was to be before the collection even officially showed. And we all know, Cara is a major influencer in the fashion world and not to mention, a Burberry muse.

As fashion weeks transition from London to Milan and then Milan to Paris, the memories of my time in Europe start to spring up. It's always during fashion month that the inspiration and longing for a life in the fashion industry really hits the hardest. So in honor of the dream and the steps I'm taking to get there, here are a few of my favorite personal photos from my summer abroad in London last year. Ah, just take me back!
